Africa Print Expo Postponed To 2021

The Africa Print expo, co-located with Sign Africa, FESPA Africa and Modern Marketing, and scheduled for 9-11 September 2020 at Gallagher Convention Centre in South Africa, will be postponed to 2021.

This decision was taken due to the current pandemic, restrictions on international travel, and the event industry being closed at the moment in South Africa with no clear indication if it will reopen before the planned dates.

‘The planning for these events involves a significant amount of time for both organisers and exhibitors, who in some cases import equipment to showcase and have representatives from their manufacturers on their stand,’ said Dyelan Copeland, expo organiser. The decision has been made to cancel this year’s expo and reschedule a new date in 2021 to ensure the event will have the due planning from all sides to make it a success. Copeland added that, ‘The number of online registrations we have had for 2020 indicate that the industry is looking forward to the next event.’

‘We are working on other opportunities to host interactive, dedicated audience sessions for companies later this year. Once we have approval on these ideas from the necessary authorities, we will launch them. Right now, whilst we wait for approvals and the event industry to open up, we have a great digital media platform to give fantastic exposure to our readers and audience and promote your services and products to our extensive databases in sub-Saharan Africa.’

FESPA Global Print Expo will no longer take place in Madrid in October 2020, but will now take place at the the RAI Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from 9-12 March 2021, again co-locating FESPA Global Print Expo, European Sign Expo and Sportswear Pro.

Exhibitors Report Quality Leads And Busy Stands At Africa Print Durban Expo

The successful Africa Durban expo, held from 11-12 March at the Durban ICC, attracted 1012 visitors, who were inspired by the latest technologies and trends in digital printing presses, screen printing, digital textile printing, ink, software, pad printing, paper and board, and digital label printing.

Exhibitors had positive feedback about the event:

‘The show was good, very busy leads-wise. We did well, and we will follow up after the show,’ said Charl Ferreira, JG Electronics.

‘Good quality leads on both days, with good interest,’ said Byron Brookhan, CMYK Industries.

‘The advantage was the exposure, lots of people who never knew about us before have now come to know us. There was positive feedback from a lot of people who want to work with us. The show worked to our advantage and the public’s. We generated strong leads, and there were keen visitors,’ said Owen Naidoo, Exodus Signage Supplies (Visdom partner).

‘We were been busy the whole day talking to customers. We had quality leads and people who want to find out about the products and the industry, and who want to get into the industry,’ said Calvin Spracklen, Roland DG.

‘Lots of people showed up, and we had quality leads,’ said Mustapha Jacobs, Rexx Screen & Digital Supplies.

‘It was a decent show, we achieved what we wanted to achieve – to market our company and to increase our exposure. We are very thankful to the organisers for arranging such a great event, so that we could let the world know that we can offer quality products that don’t cost an arm and a leg,’ said Assif Sidik, Stixo Signage Supplies.

‘It was very busy both days, very fruitful and encouraging. We met ten new clients we never knew existed, we also sold equipment. We will do it again,’ said Lawrence Singh from NSDS.

‘For KZN to have a show like this was awesome – the customers were great – not just anybody off the street. They knew what they wanted, and we want to thank the organisers for having us again,’ said Ritesh Rosen, Midcomp.

‘Fantastic, good business, and hoping this continues, thanks to the organisers – great leads have come through, good on you,’ said Abisha Katere, Printing SA.

Judges visited each stand at the expo and judged the stands according to criteria based on design, staff friendliness and professionalism.

Africa Print Bloemfontein Expo Hailed A Success

The successful Africa Print Bloemfontein expo, held on 12 February at Ilanga Estate, attracted 422 visitors from around the Free State, Lesotho and the Northern Cape, including Kimberley, Ladybrand, Welkom, Bethlehem, Maseru, Harrismith and Virginia, to name a few.

Visitors were inspired by the latest technologies and trends in digital printing presses, screen printing, digital textile printing, ink, software, pad printing, paper and board, and digital label printing.

Exhibitors had positive feedback about the event:

‘We encountered good quality leads – it was a very interesting day,’ said Manny Da Silva, Konica Minolta South Africa.

‘There were a lot of people and the show was a success for us. Visitors showed great interest in our products. It was good to see all our customers too,’ said Jury Nel, JG Electronics.

‘It was much better than expected, we had a good rush of visitors from when the doors opened. We made many good leads that will become regular customers. Visitors were happy to see us there,’ said Assif Sidik, Stixo Signage Supplies.

‘We had a decent response and achieved what we wanted. We’ve set up meetings with good prospects, and were happy with the show,’ – Allrich Trading.

‘The day was busy with a constant flow of visitors. It was good to showcase a wide range of products to this market,’ – Roland/House For Signwriting.

‘We had a good show. It was good to showcase Verimedia with our Mimaki brand for the Free State region. We were happy with the expo,’ – Verimedia/Graphix Supply World.

Judges visited each stand at the expo and judged the stands according to criteria based on design, staff friendliness and professionalism.

The results are as follows:

Africa Print Best Small Stand winner and runner-up:

Winner: Konica Minolta South Africa.

Runner-up: Printing SA.
